Serena Ryder performing Ed McCurdy’’s “Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream” at the 2009 Calgary Stampede. This was the encore to her afternoon performance, most of which was in too much heavy rain to film from near the stage. Sorry for the poor quality, I rushed to get a good elevated vantage point after the last song of the set but couldn’t even make it sixty or so feet away before she came right back on and went at it, so this is what you get, no tweaking with settings and a fair bit of jostling to contend with.

Local kayak clubs rent the wave pool at the West Edmonton Mall a few times every winter. It’s a welcome break from flat water pool sessions and probably the easiest place to learn to surf. It’s also ideal for practising wavewheels and kickflips.
